ITACO invests 2 large power projects

On August 25, the Prime Minister agreed in principle that the Tan Tao Investment & Industry Corporation (ITACO) is the main investor of 1, 200 MW Kien Luong 1 Power Plant which is expected come into operation during the 2013-2014 period, the Kien Luong 2 Power Plant with the capacity of 1,200 – 2,000 MW which will operate in the 2015-2016 stage and the Nam Du Deep Port.

Accordingly, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will guide ITACO to begin the planning process of those investment projects in accordance with the State laws and regulations. The People‘s Committee of Kien Giang province will coordinate with the Ministry of Transportation to guide ITACO to make the detailed planning to submit to the authority levels and to supplement the Nam Du Port into the master plan of the Vietnamese Seaport System with its investment project planning in conformity to the State regulations.

On the same day, the Prime Minister also approved the Vietnam Water Supply- Sewerage & Environment Construction Investment Corporation (VIWASEEN) of investigating and planning the project of the Water Supply and Drainage System in Hanoi and in the northern of Red river.

The Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Construction to direct the Viwaseen Corporation to investigate and make the planning according to the current regulations and laws. The People ‘s Committees of Hanoi, Bac Ninh, Hai Duong, Hung Yen and related ministries and departments will coordinate and support the Viwaseen Corporation in the process of investigation, research and planning.
